Parables of Jesus - Parable of the Sower

Matthew 13:3-9

King James Version (KJV)
And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Matthew 13:18-23

King James Version (KJV)
18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Mark 4:3-9

King James Version (KJV)
Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Luke 8:5-8

King James Version (KJV)
A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.
And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.
And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

The Parable of Sower is one of the most important parables of Jesus. The Parable of Sower shows us how the Word Of God is taken by the people in the world. The Seed here is the Word and the plantation ground is the hearts of the people.

There are many aspects in the parable, but two important things needs to be understood.
1. The Word Of God.
2. Heart

The word is said to be the God - Came down and lived with us as the Son Of God - and he is the Spirit.
John 1:1 NIV

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Hebrews 4:12
King James Version (KJV)

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

God by all the ways never wanted anyone to perish (2 Peter 3:9 (KJV) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.)

Hence God wants us to guard our hearts. Because (Jeremiah 17:9 NIV
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?)

Proverbs 4:23
New International Version (NIV)
23 Above all else, guard your heart,

for everything you do flows from it.

As the parable states about four different kinds of seeds which are sown. Only one among them brings the good fruit. God is faithful enough to save all the people who believes in him. Romans 8:39
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hence the only way to be fruitful is to believe in the word of God and to keep it in the heart. Obeying all the commandments in it.

Romans 8:1 NIV

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Have a Blessed Day Ahead
