On Suffering

Luke 7:11-17 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

Jesus Raises the Widow’s Son at Nain

11 Soon afterwards[a] he went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went with him. 12 As he approached the gate of the town, a man who had died was being carried out. He was his mother’s only son, and she was a widow; and with her was a large crowd from the town. 13 When the Lord saw her, he had compassion for her and said to her, “Do not weep.” 14 Then he came forward and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. And he said, “Young man, I say to you, rise!” 15 The dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus[b] gave him to his mother. 16 Fear seized all of them; and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has risen among us!” and “God has looked favorably on his people!” 17 This word about him spread throughout Judea and all the surrounding country.

John 16:33 New International Version (NIV)

33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

“There is pain in this world, and it hurts, it hurts a lot for those who go through it.” ― The fact that Jesus came to earth where he suffered and died does not remove pain from our lives.

If we were to look at any situation and ask God why? He will be able to answer. The very fact that he suffered for our sins is to say that he loves us, but yet when sufferings really hurt we start asking questions.

What about innocent lives? Lives of innocent children?

One indication is that they may be in heaven, the example is from 2 Samuel 12:23 when David's first son died, his response was, "I will go to him(Heaven), but he will not return to me"

2 Samuel 12:23 NIV
But now that he is dead, why should I go on fasting? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me."

The 21st century has been the bloodiest century. Atheism has killed more than any other reason. Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini etc put together have killed more people. ISIS or islamic terrorist groups use religion as a reason to acheive their materialistic goals.

On Crucifixation

Crucifixation of Jesus was an astounding act of obedience. It's a demonstration of Love, an act of greatness, it's the greatest form of Love. It's looking at the Joy of Salvation of humankind who look at him, on the cross. The King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He is kind and merciful. Ever wondered why he has not punished for our wrongdoings? Because he gives is choice to choose him as Savior and Lord. To show us that there is no other way for the Salvation of humankind.

The Bible says so....

1 Timothy 2:4-6 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)

God wants everyone to be saved and to fully understand the truth. There is only one God, and there is only one way that people can reach God. That way is through Christ Jesus, who as a man gave himself to pay for everyone to be free. This is the message that was given to us at just the right time.

Psalm 103:10
Verse (Click for Chapter)
New International Version
he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.

So, there are more than one reason for why God allows people choices. Ex: To choose the Land between Abraham and Lot. Lot thought he choose the right one, but we know that city he ended up staying was burnt.

The greed of Gehazi - 2ki 5:20
Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said to himself, "My master was too easy on Naaman, this Aramean, by not accepting from him what he brought. As surely as the LORD lives, I will run after him and get something from him."

Jesus has warned about making corrections, repentance and Salvation:
Jesus gives us an idea about how his Judgement will be.

Mat 5:25
"Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still together on the way, or your adversary may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison.

Cross is a place where I see God's anger being Judgemental and mercy on being Crucified. He offers this great sacrifice for us to know how much he loves us than how much he can Judge, of course he will Judge. But His Love is greater than the Judgement, that is why Paul could say "Grace abounds".

On Love

The origination of Love is from God. If God has not Loved us we would not have freedom, choices. The very life that we live is because of the Love God has for us and granted to experience his Love and forgiveness.

John 3:16 NIV
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

The perfect Love in the community of the God-Head Father, Son and Holy Spirit in itself gives us the meaning and the message of Love that was shared with us through the Son Jesus Christ. If God was one and only one without a community of God-Head where would have God showed his Love? Whom did God Love? and for what God Loves will all becomes a stand still argument. So, within the God-Head has a great Love which was then shared to the people who are made in the image of God.

The greek word for Love has four meanings:
The Greek language distinguishes at least four different ways as to how the word love is used. Ancient Greek has four distinct words for loveagápeérosphilía, and storgē. However, as with other languages, it has been difficult to separate the meanings of these words when used outside their respective contexts. Nonetheless, the senses in which these words were generally used are as follows:
  • Agápe (ἀγάπη agápē[1]) means "love: esp. charity; the love of God for man and of man for God."[2] Agape is used in ancient texts to denote feelings for one's children and the feelings for a spouse, and it was also used to refer to a love feast.[3] Agape is used by Christians to express the unconditional love of God for his children.[4] This type of love was further explained by Thomas Aquinas as "to will the good of another."[5]
  • Éros (ἔρως érōs) means "love, mostly of the sexual passion."[6] The Modern Greek word "erotas" means "intimate love." Plato refined his own definition: Although eros is initially felt for a person, with contemplation it becomes an appreciation of the beauty within that person, or even becomes appreciation of beauty itself. Plato does not talk of physical attraction as a necessary part of love, hence the use of the word platonic to mean, "without physical attraction." In the Symposium, the most famous ancient work on the subject, Plato has Socrates argue that eros helps the soul recall knowledge of beauty, and contributes to an understanding of spiritual truth, the ideal "Form" of youthful beauty that leads us humans to feel erotic desire – thus suggesting that even that sensually based love aspires to the non-corporeal, spiritual plane of existence; that is, finding its truth, just like finding any truth, leads to transcendence.[7] Lovers and philosophers are all inspired to seek truth through the means of eros.
  • Philia (φιλία philía) means "affectionate regard, friendship," usually "between equals."[8] It is a dispassionate virtuous love, a concept developed by Aristotle.[9] In his best-known work on ethics, Nicomachean Ethicsphilia is expressed variously as loyalty to friends (specifically, "brotherly love"), family, and community, and requires virtue, equality, and familiarity. Furthermore, in the same text philos denotes a general type of love, used for love between family, between friends, a desire or enjoyment of an activity, as well as between lovers.
  • Storge (στοργή storgē) means "love, affection" and "especially of parents and children"[10] It is the common or natural empathy, like that felt by parents for offspring.[11] Rarely used in ancient works, and then almost exclusively as a descriptor of relationships within the family. It is also known to express mere acceptance or putting up with situations, as in "loving" the tyrant. This is also used when referencing the love for one's country or a favorite sports team.

God's Love towards us is incomprehensible, because the Nature of God is Love. He Loves us not because of condition or for a benefit. He Loves us not because of what we have done for him not that kind of reciprocal Love - Give and take. But its Eternal. Psalm 136 tells of his "Eternal Love" for us and what he has done for us. The ultimate demonstration of Love of God for us is Cross. Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. The intention behind this one he saw that we were perishing in our sins and if only he could redeem us from it we will be saved, we will be Joyful - Hebrews 12:2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

John 15:13 NIV
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.

Not because for a simple cause, he saw them feared and wondered themselves as slaves, that they are to be called as "Slaves". For this Jesus said, "John 15:15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you."

So to know Master's Business, We are called as friends not just because Jesus intended to, but when we do whatever he has commanded us to do.

1 John 4:18 NIV
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

1 Peter 4:8 NIV
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

On predestination and freewill

On predestination and freewill. God is omnipotent there is no doubt regarding that, he knows the future, because Time(past, present, future), Matter(solid, liquid, gas) and Space(height, length, breadth) are not limited factors for God but for us. If it were that everything that happens is because what God has already prepared. We don't have choices or freewill even to Choose him as God, as that option also would not be there, but today we have a choice to choose him or reject him. But the Love does not force and Perfect Love gives freedom of choice. We have to ask ourselves a question, that if I can ask or say about God's predestination, "that everything happens because God has already predestined) am I saying this statement because I had a free choice/freewill or was it already predestined to ask such questions? The later can't be possible(predestination) as it claims to be the ultimate reason for the truth and if you state a contradictory statement to it, it diminishes the truth and diminished your point. So, what about the Omnipotent of God then? How can we say God chooses and also God prepared/decided on people. We as humans know a lot and  we do predict. Say for example, "I know my friend very well, the choice that he makes on the flavor of Ice Cream when we step into Baskin Robins, I am very much aware to serve him eatable when he comes for lunch, so when we have pizzas and rats I am sure that he chooses pizzas. Now, I can't say I am God just because I can pridect theses few things, but If we see through out history on God's predictions only God can predict certain things, as said earlier for God nothing is limited Ex: Jesus' Birth prophesy, anyone could have claimed to be God in Flesh as Jesus did, but if we carefully look into the predictions we can't deny the fact that only Jesus can and have proved to be what he claimed to be, "The Birthplace(Bethlehem) was predicted some 700 to thousands of years before his Birth, His Bloodline(Bloodline of David), Miraculous Birth (Virgin Birth), A Prophet like Moses(Deuteronomy 18:15),

GENESIS 3:15
THE PROTOEVANGELIUM

etc. And many others can't be altered by anyone, as these are beyond and person. Even if Jesus well planned to do all the things as mentioned to be like Messiah, he had no choice of his Birth, Place, born to Virgin. God being the Omnipotent can predict and prophesy. He does this to show us that only God/He can do this, it tells us about his divine power and authority, many instances he tells us about his Goodness and also to assist us to walk in the right path, to do his will and to warn of the coming destruction or for the destruction/reward for sin.

Peter and the rooster.

Luke 22:54-62 English Standard Version (ESV)

Peter Denies Jesus

54 Then they seized him and led him away, bringing him into the high priest's house, and Peter was following at a distance. 55 And when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat down among them. 56 Then a servant girl, seeing him as he sat in the light and looking closely at him, said, “This man also was with him.” 57 But he denied it, saying, “Woman, I do not know him.” 58 And a little later someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not.” 59 And after an interval of about an hour still another insisted, saying, “Certainly this man also was with him, for he too is a Galilean.” 60 But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are talking about.” And immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed. 61 And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the saying of the Lord, how he had said to him, “Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.” 62 And he went out and wept bitterly.

The resurrection by far the greatest miracle of all time. Jesus raised many, but all died the second time. Only Jesus rose never to die again.

So, Resurrection is a great event. 1 Corinthians 15 speaks a lot about ou. Let's see if Jesus really claimed that he will dur and raise again on the third day.

Jesus's divinity has not only been proved to be true because of his life, death and resurrection nor only in or from his sayings, but from the basic fact of prophesy. Jesus was born to a Virgin as prophesied, his bloodline, that he will be the great grandson of King David was prophesied, the place of his Birth and we can show many other prophesy like the one that Misse points out that there will be a great prophet, the stars that directed the wise men was to find the King of Jews.

Evidence for Jesus's Resurrection is the key to understanding why he has to die on the Cross.
