On COURAGE

Deuteronomy 31:6 ESV
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

The Opposite of Courage is Fear, Not all Fears are bad. Fear of God is Good, as many scriptures says it is the beginning of Wisdom.

Jesus says whom we should we Fear and Why.
Luke 12
New International Version (NIV)
Warnings and Encouragements
12 Meanwhile, when a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples, saying: “Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
2 There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.
3 What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.
4 “I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more.
5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.
6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.
7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
8 “I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God.
9 But whoever disowns me before others will be disowned before the angels of God.
10 And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.
11 “When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say,
12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”

Proverbs 1:7
King James Version
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

David was courageous when he won against Goliath, Joseph was courageous enough to say no to Potiphar’s Wife, Jesus was Courageous enough to overthrow the money chargers in the Temple. Paul was, Peter was and there are many in the Bible who had courage in spite of lack of confidence in themselves. They had such courage, because they believed in GOD. They put their whole trust in GOD alone.  GOD was with them and did the supernatural - They were all courageous because of God.

Psalm 111:10
New International Version
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.

Proverbs 9:10
New International Version
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Matthew 14:26-29
New International Version (NIV)
26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.
27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

1 Corinthians 16:13
New International Version (NIV)
13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.

Acts 4:13
New International Version (NIV)
13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.

Hebrews 3:6
New International Version (NIV)
6 But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.

Have a Great, Courageous and Blessed day ahead
