Miracles of Jesus - Two blind beggars restored to sight

Two Blind Men Receive Sight

Matthew 20:29-34

King James Version (KJV)
29 And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.
30 And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.
31 And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.
32 And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?
33 They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

Jesus healing the two Blind Men teaches us lessons for our lives:

Jesus saw their faith:
They might have heard about Jesus before. They might have come to know that he is God, Son of God, Messiah. Son Of David. It is said that these Blind Men when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out. saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.

Jesus had Mercy on them:
The fact that Jesus healed these Blind men was that they called unto him... Have mercy on us, O Lord,... They called  "O Lord, thou son of David.
In the BEATITUDES Jesus says -   in Matthew 5:7 KJV
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
He had compassion on these Blind Beggars. He had mercy on them.

Jesus stood still:
Even when the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David. This is the second time they called unto him.. Cried unto him. Jesus stood still. Because they cried unto him to show mercy and to proclaim him as the son of David.
In Mark chapter 12 - when Jesus says:

Whose Son Is the Messiah?

35 While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts, he asked, “Why do the teachers of the law say that the Messiah is the son of David? 36 David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit, declared:
“‘The Lord said to my Lord:
    “Sit at my right hand
until I put your enemies
    under your feet.”’
37 David himself calls him ‘Lord.’ How then can he be his son?”
The large crowd listened to him with delight.

The fact that Jesus stood still was that these Blind men were very opportunistic because even though the multitude rebuked them, They did not stop crying. It is said that they cried even more. This shows that they were again all the odds, against all the possible setbacks, drawbacks and limitations. They were ready for the miracle, they were enabled to see the vision as according to the will of God.

Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes:
One of the greatest gift of life is vision. That which enables us to see good things.

The world has different views and many have turned away from the truth, The way that God looks at the things are different from what we look at things. In  Matthew 5:28 Jesus says what it means to commit adultery -
But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Therefore David even says in Psalms:

Psalm 119:37

New King James Version (NKJV)
37 Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things,
And revive me in Your way.

Even Job says:

Job 31

New International Version (NIV)
31 “I made a covenant with my eyes
not to look lustfully at a young woman.

In the above miracle these Blind Beggars asked Jesus "Lord, that our eyes may be opened".
And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?
33 They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

In the above miracle of Jesus healing these Blind Beggars taught us that we should never give up on Glorifying God, In any circumstances and if there are any challenges, we should not stop praising him, but we should praise him evenmore. Our attitude should be like that of the prophets... Job endured the pain, but yet praised the Lord, David went through pains and sufferings, but yet praised the Lord.. many others. Jesus himself went through sufferings and said. Luke 22:42
"Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."

In Habakkuk chapter 3:17-19 - Habakkuk says when he will rejoice and be joyful in God. What it means to be having Strength in Lord.

Habakkuk 3:17-19

King James Version (KJV)
17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
19 The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.
