patient in affliction

1 Peter 2:19-25

New International Version (NIV)
19 For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God.20 But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. 21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
22 “He committed no sin,
and no deceit was found in his mouth.”
23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. 24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” 25 For “you were like sheep going astray,”but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

Jesus suffered for our wrongdoings, he patiently waited for the God. He showed us what it is to say, "Patient in affliction".

In I Peter 2:19-25 - Peter says that "But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it?"

Some of us are ready for the sufferings that we undergo for our wrongdoings, but how is it going to be affected. We are to suffer for our doing good also, we need to endure it, because that is commendable before God. We know Job's patient, Paul patient in prison and in various trails. Many people of God undergo sufferings which we know not. When we go through a little suffering our intention is to be away from such sufferings, that is good. But it will be far better to know that Jesus suffered for us, our wrong doings, so if we were to suffer for any of our good doings, we ought to endure it thinking from God's viewpoint as to what he wants us to learn from it and also we know Jesus Christ the more.

2 Peter 3:9 NIV
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

There are many aspects of being in patient in affliction:

The First and foremost is to be in patient in affliction of ourselves:

Romans 14:22NIV
So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who does not condemn himself by what he approves.

The Second is to be in patient in affliction of others:

It is said the when we Love something we can be patient for it,

Ephesians 4:2 (NIV) says Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

The Third is patient is better than pride:

Ecclesiastes 7:8 NIV
The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride.

Pride many a times makes us to be patient for the wrong thing and make us to hurry up and to do wrong things.

The Fourth - LOVE is patient:

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

New International Version (NIV)
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

Being patient in affliction is not a matter of one or two times, it is something that which we need to be forever.

Romans 5:7-8

New International Version (NIV)
Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

There will times of testing when we may lose such patient, but trusting in God and pleasing him in Faith will enable us to overcome such impatience, because the Lord, God - Jesus Christ - Holy Spirit will discern us to know what it means to be patient in affliction.

Hebrews 11:24-25

New International Version (NIV)
24 By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. 25 He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin.

Hebrews 12:2 NIV

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

HAVE A GREAT AND BLESSED DAY AHEAD
