Miracles of Jesus - Man with withered hand healed

Jesus Heals on the Sabbath

Matthew 12:10-14

King James Version (KJV)
10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.

Mark 3:1-6

King James Version (KJV)
And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.
And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.
And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.
And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

Luke 6:6-11

King James Version (KJV)
And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered.
And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.
But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.
Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?
10 And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
11 And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.

The second healing on the Sabbath day by Jesus. The significance of Jesus healing on sabbath was this:

Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath:
He is the God of sabbath - In matthew 12 there is this account of Jesus saying in v.8 -  "For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”

The significance of the Sabbath:
Mark 2:27 NIV Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

The Authority of the Son:
In John 5 - Healing at the pool and the first healing on Sabbath Jesus says “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.”

Sabbath is to do good:
Mark 3:4 NIV Then Jesus asked them, "Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?"

A Person is more valuable than a sheep:
Matthew 12:12 NIV How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath."

In this second healing on Sabbath, Jesus teaches us the lessons for life:
Jesus teaches us to do good: As the scribes and pharisees thought what Jesus would do. But Jesus again thought them a lesson, to do good. Always and everytime.

Jesus is concerned about us more than any other things: Jesus said is man not more than a sheep, He also said it is good to do healings on Sabbath than just awaiting for the right time or to do any other thing.

Jesus heals the woulds, Heals the sick and miracle happens to the one who is willing: Here Jesus saw this withered hand man, who would have been disappointed about that fact, but when Jesus asks him to stretch forth his hand, he does it. And his hand was restored whole as the other.

Have A Great And Blessed Day Ahead
