Miracles of Jesus - Water Made Into Wine - John 2:1-11

Marriage at Cana

John 2:1-11
King James Version (KJV)
2 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

Turning the water into wine – Jesus’ First Miracle recorded in the Gospels.
In the Miracle Jesus showed that miracles are not only to be made in the manner of what man thinks.

Fulfilling the need:
The most important aspect of this miracle is fulfilling the need; the need of the hour was wine, the wedding was running out of wine.

Jesus knew the consequences:
Sometime the biggest problem in life happens to be with some little trouble in life. The running out of wine would not have been a big issue, but still nothing can be compared or refused. Jesus knew this; no other man at any circumstances would have predicted anything so accurately like Jesus.

Power of God:
For the time of creation God’s power is revealed in different ways, the power of God can change any situations and circumstances. This miracle is one among and the first of Jesus’s, to demonstrate the power of God.

So what is in it for Today's contexts with reference to the Miracle of turning the water into wine:
What we can learn from it is to be an opportunist like Jesus, to find the areas of improvement. Whenever there is a scarcity or a need or a want that needs to be fulfilled and which is within our reach then we should go ahead and take the initiative of doing it rather than waiting for anything to happen, we need to be the change agent, the miracle maker – but it’s not in our hand to do the miracles, but it is within the hands of the LORD Jesus, our faith in Jesus and by believing Jesus only can do it is one aspect, and stepping out of faith and doing the right things is always the best thing. i.e., believing in Jesus and taking the right steps. Many of our lives are running out of wine. We may not know the consequences; but Jesus is the answer – As the person who called Jesus and his disciples to the marriage we need to call in our lives, in our heart, giving him the first place, being obedient and faithful to him and to him alone, following all his commands, mediating in his words day and night then Jesus can turn the bad situation into good, he will turn the water into wine. Failures are the lessons, we don't live in the past or worry about the future, because we know the God's timing.

At the end of the Miracle, John states the Miracle brought three important things for the believer:
Beginning of Miracles: It’s the beginning of Miracles, In other place John says that  John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
Manifestation of Glory:  in John 14:13 Jesus says "whatever You Ask In My Name, That Will I Do, So That The Father May Be Glorified In The Son."
Belief of his disciples: JOHN 2:11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

Have A Blessed Day Ahead
