Jesus Drives Out an Impure Spirit
Mark 1:21-28

21 And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.
22 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.
23 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,
24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.
26 And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.
27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what newdoctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.
28 And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.
Luke 4:31-37

32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.
33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,
34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.
Jesus healing the Demon possessed man has very important lessons for our lives:
When Jesus was teaching in Synagogue on the Sabbath day,
Firstly - People were Astonished at his doctrine. for he taught them as one that had authority, for his word was with power.
For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
Secondly - There was this unclean, demon possessed man in the Synagogue who cried out saying Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God. The Demon possessed man knew the power of God, That Jesus is the Holy one, The Son Of God. When Jesus spoke with authority, the demon possessed man had no other way other than to ask Jesus to stop. 35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
Jesus with the authority first commanded and said Hold thy peace, and asked the unclean spirit to come out of the man without hurting him. That is what Jesus does when anyone is possessed with an unclean spirit, he never rebukes the person nor hurt him, but deliver them from the unclean spirits. That is what Jesus taught us to pray for - Mat 6:33 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Thirdly - The people were all amazed, were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out. Jesus said in John 12:49 NKJV
For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak.
Fourthly - As said in Psalm 145 - 7 The fame of your goodness spreads across the country; your righteousness is on everyone's lips.
In the above miracle also Jesus spread the name of the Father by healing the unclean spirit with the authority and power. 37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.
