Behold, My Servant

Jesus came to the world to fulfill the prophesies thousands of years before God's chosen people who prophesied. Like Isaiah for example. Who wrote accurately about Jesus' birth and his sufferings for us. For the remission of our sins.
Matthew takes a note on while Jesus withheld to share his healing on Sabbath. As Jesus warns - Yet He warned them not to make Him known.
Many of us miss out on this aspect of life. When Jesus warns they not to make his name known, it means there should have been some hindrance. The people were looking only for healing and miracles and not God. They were looking how to put him to death, rather than understanding that they were dead through their sins and Jesus came to save them from their death to sin and give everlasting life through him.

He also said them not to make him known, because to fulfill the prophesy. that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet

Isaiah 42 gives us the clear picture of what God wants his servant to do, To heal the broken heart, To set the captives free, to give sight to the blind.. etc.

Matthew 12:15-21

New King James Version (NKJV)

Behold, My Servant

15 But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all. 16 Yet He warned them not to make Him known, 17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:
18 “Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen,
My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased!
I will put My Spirit upon Him,
And He will declare justice to the Gentiles.
19 He will not quarrel nor cry out,
Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets.
20 A bruised reed He will not break,
And smoking flax He will not quench,
Till He sends forth justice to victory;
21 And in His name Gentiles will trust.”

Jesus teaches us two important aspect from this prophesy of Isaiah.
A) Jesus's fulfillment of the prophesy,
B) Jesus's fulfillment of the Father's will for his life.

Jesus lived a sinless life, in the most difficult situation of life, at the time when he knew he would be made to suffer in the cross the day before Jesus said to Father - "Luke 22:42 NIV
"Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."
Jesus' life has been an inspiration for many, for even Paul the apostle says in Philippians 4:13 - "I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me"
And this statement he made when he was in prison.

So let us put our attitude like Jesus - Not only doing as according to what he has commanded, but being humble and saying "We are unworthy servants"
Luke 17:10 NKJV
10 So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.’”

As Paul even said in Philippians 2

Philippians 2

New International Version (NIV)

Imitating Christ’s Humility

Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God,
    did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
    being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself
    by becoming obedient to death
        even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

HAVE A GREAT AND BLESSED DAY AHEAD
