Jesus The Greatest of All

God is Love,

1 John 4:8New International Version (NIV)

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

Demonstration of his own Love:
Romans 5:8 NIV
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

John 3:16 NIV

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 15:13 NIV

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.

The greatest is Love:
1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

John 13:34-35New International Version (NIV)

34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

1 Peter 4:8 NIV
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

1 John 4:18 NIV
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

1 John 4:19 NIV
We love because he first loved us.

Jesus is the greatest of all:
Greater than John - The Baptist
Jesus is the greatest of all the prophets, When Jesus said who John the baptist was, he also said who is greater than he. Jesus himself is the greatest of all. Because he took the form of human and lowered himself obediently to the point of death and rose on third day as per the Father's will.
Luke 7:28 NIV
I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he."

Greater than Solomon
When Jesus was explaining about how the generation wants miracles and seeks for it, rather than praising and appreciating the presence of God himself. When they sought for a sign from heaven, Jesus said “This is a wicked generation. It asks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.
As Jonah was a sign to the Nivevites, So also will the Son of Man be to this generation.
Then Jesus said about Solomon: The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the people of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom; and now something greater than Solomon is here.
Wisdom is a gift of God, but Jesus has already said about the matchless wisdom of God and the wisdom of man by demonstrating the dress with all splendor of Solomon to the one of the lilies of the field.
Matthew 6:29 NIV
Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

The Sign of Jonah
29 As the crowds increased, Jesus said, “This is a wicked generation. It asks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah. 30 For as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so also will the Son of Man be to this generation. 31 The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with the people of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom; and now something greater than Solomon is here. 32 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and now something greater than Jonah is here.
Greater than Jonah
Jesus' sacrifice on the cross has cleansed all the sins of the world. But each and everyone has to repent and accept Jesus Christ as the Lord and savior to fulfill the promise of God in their lives. The generation when Jesus came to the world was seeking for signs and they were wicked and evil. Jesus says that his coming was for such generation as like that of the generation of the Jonah, whom God chose to change a whole generation of the city of Nineveh. Jesus is the chosen Son of God to this generation for whole world's redemption from its sin.

Luke 11:32New American Standard Bible (NASB)

32 The men of Nineveh will stand up with this generation at the judgment and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.

Matthew 18 New International Version (NIV)

The Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven

18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

Causing to Stumble

“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come! If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.
