The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me - Luke 4:18

When Jesus’ Public Ministry was started, he first read from the book of Isaiah 61, Which is given in Luke 4:18.

Luke 4:18

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,

Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor.
He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives,
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set free those who are oppressed,
In fact when John asks his disciples to question, if Jesus is the Messiah or shall we look for someone else. Jesus said all about this prophesy which is in Isaiah:

Matthew 11:1-6

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

John’s Questions

11 When Jesus had finished [a]giving instructions to His twelve disciples, He departed from there to teach and[b]preach in their cities.
Now when John, [c]while imprisoned, heard of the works of Christ, he sent word by his disciples and said to Him, “Are You the [d]Expected One, or shall we look for someone else?” Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and report to John what you hear and see: the blind receive sight and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the [e]gospel preached to them. And blessed is he [f]who does not [g]take offense at Me.”

Jesus' Public Ministry started with this Spirit led prophesy filled message from Isaiah 61. Thousands of years before Jesus' birth, God through the Spirit inspired Isaiah to prophesy what Jesus would do. It is one of the most important lesson for our lives too. When we follow the footsteps of Jesus, we are to follow as what he says, We have to do what he commands us to do. We have to obey him.

The First thing that Jesus says that he does is, is to preach the Gospel to the poor.
1) To Preach the Gospel to the poor.

In the sermon on the mount, Jesus said,
Matthew 5:3 NIV
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

The end comes when the Gospel is preached to the whole world.
Matthew 24:14 NIV
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Feed My Sheep means to Preach the Gospel.

John 21:17

New American Standard Bible (NASB)
17 He *said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you [a]love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to himthe third time, “Do you [b]love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I [c]love You.” Jesus *said to him, Tend My sheep.

Jesus here says he has been Anointed by the spirit of the lord to preach the poor.

The Second thing that Jesus says that he does is, is to proclaim release to the captives.
2) Sent me to proclaim release to the captives -

The whole world is captivated by the Sin. And Jesus says he proclaims to release from Sin - Remember that saving a sinned one is saving him from most of the sins that he may commit.

James 5:20 (KJV)
Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

... For the Joy in heavens over one sinner who has repented...
Luke 15:7 NIV
I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

Luke 15:10 NIV
In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

The Third thing that Jesus says that he does is, is to recover the sight to the blind.
3) Recovery of the sight to the blind... Opening of the heart from unbelief, from blocking of spiritual misunderstanding...
It is not just recovery from the physical blindness, but that of Spiritual.
1 Corinthians 2:9 NIV
However, as it is written: "What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived" -- the things God has prepared for those who love him--

The Fourth thing that Jesus says that he does is, is to set Free those who are oppressed.
4) To set Free Those who are oppressed - from pharisee type of people who are proud, who cannot themselves hold anything with their fingers, but fill oppression on others...
Matthew 23:4 NIV
They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
if they were not able to achieve anything in life, due to fear, laziness and worry they want other to feel the same about life and they want others to live in misery. But what God says is this:
2 Timothy 1:7 NIV
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

We know the oppression of the Egyptians on Israelites and how God delivered them. God now sent Jesus to free those who are oppressed.

HAVE A GREAT AND BLESSED DAY AHEAD
