Bible World

The Bible World is a permanent Bible Exhibition of the Bible Society of India located in the Head Quarters premises on M. G. Road. It welcomes visitors from all walks of life for a visit. Visitors get the opportunity to supplement their understanding and knowledge about the history of the Bible, translations of Bible into different languages. Research scholars doing their studies on Bible and language visit this exhibition for their research work as the source of information. Children find their area of interest about the Bible such as playing on the touch screen computers and looking at the postal stamps containing the Bible stories.

How the Bible came to us:

This section exhibits the history of the Bible i.e., how the Bible came to us. A chart showing the origin of the cuneiform writings and its expressions on clay is preserved. Picture of clay tablets inscribed with the text of the Babylonian chronicle of the chief events in the reigns of the kings who ruled over Babylon during BC 744-669 is shown.

The picture of a black stone pillar kept in the exhibition on which Hammurabic code (282 laws often compared with the Law of Moses) engraved on the black stone in cuneiform writing dating 2000 BC can be seen. This section contains an illustration of a Hebrew parchment scroll intended for the use in synagogue.

Antique Bibles:

One can see a number of antiques Bibles dating from 1560 onwards. One of these is the Bishops’ Bible. It is a large print pulpit size Bible. It was printed in London in 1585 by Christopher Baker and published by the Church of England. This Bible was used as the basis for the King James Version of the Bible completed in 1611. The Bishops’ Bible has numerous engraving pictures and it is considered as a landmark in printing achievement. It is considered as a rare piece of the printed Bible because today very few copies of this Bishops’ Bible are available in the world.

Pulpit-size Bible:

Bible in English language to be kept and for use on the pulpit printed in the year 1800 is exhibited in this exhibition hall. The full Bible is divided into six volumes (Old Testament in four volumes and New Testament in two volumes).

• Vol-I – Genesis to Deuteronomy
• Vol-II- Joshua to I Chronicles
• Vol-III- II Chronicles to Isaiah
• Vol-IV- Jeremiah to Malachi
• Vol-V- Matthew to John
• Vol-VI- Acts to Revelation.

Each volume weighing 12 kgs and of size measuring 18”X14”.
The Bible is embellished with engravings pictures and designs.

Bible Sacra- Polyglotta Bagsteriona:

It is the Parallel Bible in eight ancient languages kept in the exhibition hall. This Bible was printed and published in the year 1831. One can read the whole Bible having eight languages on each page of the Bible. The languages are; Hebrew, Anglican, Greek, Latin, German, Gallic, Italian, and Spanish. The beauty of this Bible is that this Bible was printed about 200 years before when the printing technology was not so developed as of today.

Bible in different languages of India:

The Bible Society of India has translated the Bible into many Indian languages for the people of India to read the Scripture in their own languages. There are 1652 languages and dialects spoken and read by the people in our country, India. Efforts have been made to translate the Bible in full, the New Testament and portions of the Bible into various Indian languages and dialects. One copy each of the Indian language Bibles have been displayed here for the visitors to see. Some of them are antique Bibles. Scholars doing research on language find the change in a particular language during a span of time.

Bible in different languages of the world :

Efforts have been made for several years to collect the Bibles of foreign languages and a copy of each of the Bible of more than 200 languages of the world have been exhibited here in this exhibition. Visitors from abroad and others who are interested in the foreign language Bibles are visiting regularly to read and supplement their understanding and knowledge about history of translation and history of the printed Bible. Out of all these Bibles, most of them are antique Bibles which are rarely available for reading purpose.

The Bible on Stamps :

It is one of the interesting sections in the Exhibition. Postal stamps on the stories of the Bible both from Old Testament, New Testament and General Events related to history of the Bible. Postal stamps released by various countries of the world based on the Bible are collected, developed with caption and Bible verse, laminated and exhibited in this exhibition. For example; the postal stamp with a title “In the beginning God…….” was issued by USA in commemoration of the Apollo 8 mission in December 1968. On this stamp one can have a view of the first photograph of the earth taken from deep space.

The country Guyana has released the postal stamp on the story of Joseph. It is so designed, that if 24 stamps are joined together, one can read the story of Joseph as mentioned in Genesis chapter 35-42. It creates interest among the children to read more stories from the Bible.

The State of Oman has released the postal stamp based on Mark chapter 14 verse 36 in which the picture of Jesus with the cup in Gethsemane has been portrayed.

The kingdom of Yemen has released several postal stamps with various stories of Jesus from the Bible. These postal stamps were released on 5th anniversary of Imam’s mission to Pope Paul VI in Jerusalem 1964-69 such as;

Jesus calls the first disciples. Luke 5:1-10.

Jesus walks on the water as mentioned in Mark 6:47-50

Gospel in one page :

The gospel according to St. Matthew and St. John can be read in one page each with or without the help of a magnifying lens are exhibited in this exhibition. These are imported from Hong Kong Bible Society, mounted and placed for visitors to have a look and reading purpose. These letters are so designed that the entire gospel has a look of the face of Jesus. Visitors visiting this exhibition are keen to read their own favourite verse from the gospel without the help of the magnifying glass.

One Page Book- The Bible :

Visitors, after seeing the “One Page Book-The Bible” have given their comments like “awesome”, “un-believable”, and fantastic”, etc. . The printed Bible which has the volume of minimum 1200 pages is available in this exhibition to read in one page. This one page includes the complete text of the Old and New Testaments in King James Version. The text in this document consists of 8,63,302 words including 35,21,097 individual letters. This one page Book is as much as an artwork as it is a readable document.

The Title Page of the first part of the Tamil New Testament (1714) translated by Ziegenbalg: :

Bartholomaus Ziegenbalg from Denmark came to India and started his work with the Tranquebar Mission in Tamilnadu in the year 1706. He worked hard for five years and the first part of the New Testament in Tamil language was published in the year 1714. The Royal monogram of the king of Denmark is seen in the picture.

The full New Testament in Tamil language was published in the year 1719. His Old Testament translation was completed by another missionary Benjamin Schultze in the year 1728.

The Tercentenary of Tranquebar Mission in India (1706-2006) was celebrated by Tamil Evangelical Lutheran Church and a postal stamp in commemoration of this Tercentenary celebration was released by Government of India.

Hand-written Bible:

Hand-written Bible in various Indian languages is displayed here in this exhibition. The hand-written full Bible in Mizo language written by Mr. Thangmawia from Aizawl in the year 2001 can be seen. The full Bible written in beautiful hand-writing by Mr. Thangmawia without any mistake or over-writing.

The different texts of the full Bible in different Indian languages written by different persons have been displayed in this exhibition.

Tamil New Testament written by Mr. Immanuel Henry is also displayed in this exhibition.

After witnessing these hand-written Bibles, many visitors have been encouraged and motivated to start writing in their own mother tongue.

Diglot Bible:

Bible in two languages on each page has been published by different National Bible Societies. One copy of each publication have been collected and exhibited for the visitors to see and read.

The Bible Society of India has published Diglot Bible in four Indian languages with English as the corresponding language. These are:

English – Telugu
English – Tamil
English – Hindi
English - Malayalam

Any one visits this exhibition will get the opportunity to look at the rare variety of Bibles from all over the world under one roof.

One Language – Variety of Editions:

Bible has been translated into different Indian Languages. But one translated Indian language Bible has gone, during span of time, through many editions.

For example, Bible in Odia language, first, was translated by Dr. William Carey in the year 1811, but it has gone through several times of revision and variety of editions of the same Oriya language Bible have been published by the Bible Society of India. Odia Bible of 22 editions has been preserved in the exhibition for the visitors to see.

Model of Holy Land, Israel:

This model has attracted many visitors as it highlights the places of importance in the history of the Bible. Visitors can have a clear picture of the location of places relating to the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ

Touch Screen computers:

For children: Children, when they visit this exhibition, get excited to play with the touch screen computer meant for them. This kiosk contains the stories from the Bible, songs and music to learn, Bible games and quiz etc. It helps the children to enhance their Biblical knowledge. Number of children from different Sunday Schools and Vacation Bible Schools have already visited and benefited

For adults:

Here is another Kiosk meant for the adults which has animated Bible stories, Bible Atlas, Bible Encyclopedia, Time Travel etc.

Chronology of the Bible:

Another interesting exhibit for the visitor is a chart showing the chronology of the Bible from the Creation of the world to the Birth of Jesus Christ with events and dates.

William Carey and Bible Translation:

Dr. William Carey, one of the pioneers of Bible translators, came to India and felt the need of translation of Bible into different Indian languages. He, along with others, translated Bible into more than forty Indian languages. Visitors can go through all his hard work, his hand-written letters and photographs of his place of stay, his work place and Serampore College founded by him etc.

Hand-written Bibles:

We all are acquainted with printed Bibles, Bible in audio and electronic format. But here in this exhibition visitors can find hand-written Bibles in various Indian languages. One Bible in Mizo language written by Mr. R.Thangmawia and the Photostat copy of Tamil hand-written Bible by Mr. Immanuel Henry are exhibited here in this exhibition which has inspired many visitors and motivated them to start writing the Bible in their own languages.

Ancient documents relating to the Bible:

A Qumran fragment from the Book of Isaiah of 1st and 2nd century B.C. and some pages from Codex Sinaiticus of 4th century A.D. and many other ancient documents are displayed here in this exhibition for visitors to enlighten the knowledge about the history of the Bible.

I was able to get my friend to this museum and answer few of her questions: Question: How was the oldest form of Bible or Scriptures were written and how was it preserved?
The very old form of writing known to man was in the tablets called "Cuneiform script"

Cuneiform script, one of the earliest systems of writing, was invented by the Sumerians. It is distinguished by its wedge-shaped marks on clay tablets, made by means of a blunt reed for a stylus.



The other forms were like...

Papyrus: Papyrus is a material similar to thick paper that was used in ancient times as a writing surface. It was made from the pith of the papyrus plant, Cyperus papyrus, a wetland sedge.
 Egyptian Papyrus is made from a plant that grows on the banks of the Nile River in Egypt.




Question: If Jesus Christ was born some 2k years and Christianity was born at that time, how can Christianity be a True Religion? Since there were many other religions before that?

It is True "Christianity" began from the birth of Jesus Christ, but to understand Christianity we need to understand two important things: History - Before Jesus' Birth and After Jesus' Birth. 

So, Jesus' Birth was predicted some 7,000 to millions of years before his birth. As it is also called as "protoevangelium" Genesis 3 15 - 

"it shall bruise thy head and thou shalt bruise his heel." 

This is a prophesy of what would happen in the future, when Jesus was on the cross relates to serpent biting heel and Resurrection - Jesus bruising the head of satan.

Even before that, God created Adam - "In the Image of God, he created both male and female".

Jesus: Was fully a man and fully God, His Birth was prophesied some 700 years before his Birth. The specification of the Place of Birth, To the Bloodline - To be born of the bloodline of King David to the Virgin Birth - Was prophesied by Isaiah the Prophet. No one can claim to be "The Son of God", "Messiah", "God" than Jesus - For which he was Crucified. But since he was and is the God, he is still Alive but Resurrection to live forevermore.

Question: Christianity in India   
If Britishers bought in Missionaries to share and spread Christianity in India how can we rely on this? as they might have just bought to spread in their agenda to conquer and rule

There is a mis-conception among many that "Christianity is a Western Religion" came along with Britishers and they bought only to Divide and Conquer for which they used "Evangelism" as a means. But, there are many things we need to understand here: 

First: Christianity was not only bought by the Missionaries at the time of British.
Second: Christian Missionaries not British (British East India Company) bought Christianity.

First: Christianity came to India roughly about the Time Jesus ascended to Heaven, as Jesus' own Disciple "Apostle Thomas" or also called as "Doubting Thomas" bought Christianity to India at about 50-70 AD. Proofs:

I have personally visited "St. Thomas Mount" near Ramapuram and "St. Thomas Cathedral Badilica near Marina Beach. Also, there are many historical evidences from several Churches that he founded in Kerala.

William Carrey:

The story behind sing, I have decided to follow Jesus.
It was written by Simon Marak, from Jorhat, Assam. However, according to Dr P. Job, the lyrics are based on the last words of Nokseng, a Garo man, a tribe from Meghalaya which then was in Assam, who along with his family decided to follow Jesus Christ in the middle of the 19th century through the efforts of an American Baptist missionary. Called to renounce his faith by the village chief, the convert declared, "I have decided to follow Jesus." His two children were killed and in response to threats to his wife, he continued, "Though none go with me, still I will follow." His wife was killed, and he was executed while singing, "The cross before me, the world behind me." This display of faith is reported to have led to the conversion of the chief and others in the village.^[1] The fierce opposition is possible, as various tribes in that area were formerly renowned for head-hunting.

Esau Sells His Birthright
29 Once when Jacob was cooking stew, Esau came in from the field, and he was exhausted. 30 And Esau said to Jacob, “Let me eat some of that red stew, for I am exhausted!” (Therefore his name was called Edom.[a]) 31 Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright now.” 32 Esau said, “I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me?” 33 Jacob said, “Swear to me now.” So he swore to him and sold his birthright to Jacob. 34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank and rose and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.

The Bible tells us about this story of two brothers born for Issac the promised son. One of the questions of why God favored Jacob though he cheated is because of the Carnal Mind of Easy. Note though carnality was mainly related with sexual desires and appetites. Here Esau got nothing of that sort of ab act, but God looks at the fleshly desire of appetite for food the same way for sexual desires. The fruit that was looking good, that bought the sin to the world. The temptation of Jesus in wilderness, where satan asks Jesus to turn the stone into bread.

The Need for God's Word:

Ever since the first sin Adam committed, The separation of God and humans created a Way for Worship, Where Man started calling God by different Names and in many ways he thought to Worship and honor, this is well reflected in the first sacrifice that Man made to offer it to God. The Story of Cain & Able. But today we see that we are bombarded with knowledge, fact, information that we either take the Scripture very lightly or we ignore it completely. But we should understand the Fact that God still speaks to us through his Word, this Word has comforted many lives, people at the urge of committing sin, suicidal attempts and many who hear it at the time of need have benefited by its amazing Transforming Power, It is not in reciting or just reading it that we understand and realize its power, but by believing in it and Trusting it. The Word is referred to Jesus Christ in the Gospel of John, This Word was God in the Beginning of Creation, He was in the Creation process where every thing that is created is created by him and through him. He became Man, Communication to the point where we can realize and understand God's Love by his Nature. He gave up his "Status" to be called as "God" and became "A Carpenter's Son" his glory in heaven can't be compared when he hung on the Cross, where he was despised and rejected all these he went through is to share his Heart felt Love for his creation. The very Idea of all the intellects who thought "How can God become Man" was destroyed, the Power, the destiny and the death could not hold him, He Raised From the Death to show that he is Author and Finisher of Life, He has the power to lay down his life and to take it. This Word is the Need of The Hour. His Words are Heart Touching, Transforms the Hardened Heart to Soften, Bringing a Change that he only can bring through "His Words" which are filled with not only "Wise and Wisdom", but of Power and of Life.

On Sufferings

God is Able. God is powerful, there is nothing he can't do. Then why he didn't take care of the poor, why suffering?

God is so powerful that he gives us freewill and freedom. Today we can freely choose and di things on our own way is because God has given that ability, this doesn't restrict God's power, but in fact shows us that there is nothing more powerful than God. Because it is for the one who has power can choose to give the Freewill.

So, what about all this injustices and evil that people choose to do. There could be more reasons why God choose the leave it.
1. Freedom - If God were to intervine, we can't do anything. So, God knows that we as humans can do mistakes. But his ultimate aim is for us to choose him and to surender to him alone.

2. Chance - God is a God of choices. This verse from Peter gives us more sense.

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

He gives us choices to choose him,

1st Timothy 3:4
who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

Jesus knows that we are weak and we do not understand.
When the sentence for a crime is not quickly carried out, people's hearts are filled with schemes to do wrong.

God's soverginity over humans is so great, he choose to give himself, his only son for us. How are we to know his will. In this complex world were we are filled with information. We are to discern and choose God's choice for our lives than our own plans.

Better a little with righteousness than much gain with injustice.


Ultimately it is for our good that he does. At times when the evil is so much contaminated he will wipe out everything. Like in the days of Noah or at the time of Lot. Yet he is so much compassionate and caring.

Biblical Interpretation of Dreams and Visions

Dreams are very common. But, Dreams that are Godly are intended to be interpreted and obeyed. As it contains Divine warnings and guidance.


Dreams and Interpretations of Joseph
Joseph in the Old Testament was an important personality. More number of Chapters speaks about him. He first had dreams which when he shared with the family members (brothers) caused problem, though it is Truth there was an element of Pride, but he was Faithful till the end, so God turned all the sufferings and pain into "Success", he became the second most powerful person in Egypt next after to Pharaoh.

So, we can learn from Joseph's Dreams that when we get a divine revelation, we are to keep it secret and moreover we should be thankful to God. We should never boast about our future, as God is in control of everything. We also can see a relationship between "Parable of the Prodigal Son or The Lost Son" and "Joseph". But in the case of "Joseph" it was not his will or intention to go far, but God made him humble, obedient in a foreign country, in the case of the "Prodigal Son", the Son chose to leave the Father and went away, suffered and ill treated then came to senses, realized him mistake and turned back and came towards "Father".

The Jailer saw that "God was with Joseph". Interpretation of Dreams may be a Gift and it is never a skill that has been learnt, as Joseph declares, Genesis 40: "Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams." We are only at the receiving point of what God intent to make things happen. When we receive the "Warnings or Instructions" we first have to realize that if it is from God, we need to humble and pray for his presence. We need to remain faithful. Though God had different plans for the Jailer and Baker, the ultimate interpretation of Pharaoh made a significant changes to the lives of many. Joseph says: In Genesis 50

God's Good Purposes
15 When Joseph's brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “It may be that Joseph will hate us and pay us back for all the evil that we did to him.” 16 So they sent a message to Joseph, saying, “Your father gave this command before he died: 17 ‘Say to Joseph, “Please forgive the transgression of your brothers and their sin, because they did evil to you.”’ And now, please forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father.” Joseph wept when they spoke to him. 18 His brothers also came and fell down before him and said, “Behold, we are your servants.” 19 But Joseph said to them, “Do not fear, for am I in the place of God? 20 As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people[b] should be kept alive, as they are today. 21 So do not fear; I will provide for you and your little ones.” Thus he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.


So, we can clearly see that God gives clear instructions in Dreams for those who believe and trust in him, only he gives the dreams he expects to follow and obey as the Ultimate authority and power is with him. We should never get proud or take advantage to praise our-self if we have such gifts.

Dreams and Interpretations of Daniel.
Daniel is another prominent figure in the Old Testament, He exactly predicted various events from history, the Birth of Messiah etc.

Faith without prejudice

Faith is an amazing journey that has to be taken with Facts and also experiential. We have prejudices that hold us back to think the correct path of Truth. Ex: accepting everything in a text just because some of the texts contain the Truth. The New Testament writers were very careful to choose and pick the prophesies from the Old Testament. Imagine if they go only by prejudice tellig that Jesus was the Messiah by watching his miracles, power etc. They would soon be questioned as to what basis Jesus does those miracles? Jesus himself declared this... I have come to fulfill the law and not to destroy it. Jesus didn't use his power to prove he is God, because he wants us to know him as God by Love. For what we seek him and trust him is more important than when. Prejudice compels one to believe and force one to take decision. It distorts the Truth and enjoys the pleasure in falsehood. Taking some parts of the Old Testament and ignoring others, Twisting the Facts etc are results of prejudices.

Romans 2:11-16 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Being one with God and becoming Gods

Many pantheistic world view teaches that we become one with God and we become God. But the Christian world view clearly says the state of human. From the beginning it was made as male and female, what we call as humans are made in the image of God and also will be transformed in the image of his glory. These pantheistic world view also says God as a force, the ultimate force without any form and humans made different forms, but the Christian world view says God as a person, if we humans are created in his image, we have got the image of God. This image is not just a force or an idol, but an incompherencible being, this is why we believe Jesus as God, as he fully represents the God, God the Father, even the Holy Spirit is not a mere force, but a being. In God we find the perfect unity in Trinity.

Peace, harmony and mutual understanding between them. And ultimately the expression of concern and care - Love was within them, which then shared among us humans and the ultimate expression of it through Jesus Christ sacrifice on the Cross, the ultimate power of his Resurrection. Perfectly blends and shows that he alone is the True Living God.


John 17:22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one--

Power and Pride

The Pharaoh thought he is God, When God intervened he had to give the highest price, his life. He not only thought he is God, but wanted the people to worship him, he wanted the very people who worship the True and Living God to turn and worship him. His Power went along with Pride. In the new testament we see this madness to Power and Pride made the Kings to think they are King of Jews. One of them is Herod, First reaction when he heard the news bought by the wise men about the newly born King Of Jews was shock, then he lie and tried to deceive the wise men to show the newly born baby. But, when he got to know that the wise men didn't turn. He ordered to kill all male child which is 2 years of younger. This ruthless act to retain his power and pride let an outcry in the city.

A Call For Discipliship

It amazes me to see how Jesus' Disciple transformed, but even more is how they accepted the call. Jesus was not like the traditional Rabbi's. Many Jews left Jesus for this cause.

Call of Discipliship
Call of Peter after fishing to call of Paul amazes the reader of the Biblical narratives. Almost in each case we see both divine intervention and the choice of the individual. This answers the elections and one of theological concept of predestination.

"Fate or predestiny" in context to the overall happenings in our life is not only wrong but also misleading. One will be using it as an escapism, another will be proud and please self.

6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.

7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.

9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.

11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:

12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

Ingrafted Branches

We see that when we disobey and disintegrate the patter of God's plans in our lives, It is we who suffer. But God never gives up on us, he makes all the efforts to bring the integration.

The First Adam Failed, Disintegrated the plans God had for the Humanity, Family, Friends etc, only the Second Adam fulfilled it by integrating "Faith & Obedience".

When Israel failed to be (The Fruit bearing Tree - Grape, Olive, Fig etc) God allowed it to be destroyed by other nations, bringing in "Gentiles" to "Salvation".

Paul wonderfully writes this integration of the "In grafted Branches while writing to Romans".

What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; but the people of Israel, who pursued the law as the way of righteousness, have not attained their goal. Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works...

Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious. But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!

Though we might say, "God's plan for humans did not work". It is actually "Man's Plan". God's Plan always Works, His Words are for everlasting. He makes everything perfect. So, the clouds that we see today without clarity of his plan we should not get discouraged. It is with this cloud that he appears.

The plans of God are much higher, when we became "Independent" we lost the sight of his marvelous plans, his grand design, his matchless thoughts. It is only when we "depend upon his" will he show us the "Way". We disintegrate in every aspect of our lives, the Israelite asked for "Kings" as they saw other nations had, it was the God who was the "King of Kings" and "Lord of Lords". They tried to work out on their own every time, they tried to build a tower that reach heaven. God confused their language. Even so with "Kings" very few obeyed and did what God wanted them to do, the "Exodus" or "Deliverance" from the Egyptians has a great lesson for what God did for "Kings". Pharaoh's Heart and The Land of Egypt has a lots of lessons to be learnt. God ultimately has to intervene directly to "Destroy" the earthly king - Pharaoh(Who thought he was the god). God said:

And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and he will pursue them. But I will gain glory for myself through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD."

Presence of God

More than anything that we ask or seek (even to knock), it should be for "The Presence of God", God created us in his image, had fellowship with Adam(in the cool of evening). Everything was "Good" in the creation of God, except the fact that man sinned, disobeyed God.

Genesis 6:3

“Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans [man] forever, for they are mortal [flesh]; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.”

Jesus changed this phenomenon when he appeared as human,

"The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" (which means "God with us").

Jesus' presence was sought after everyone who came to know that it's enough in this life, nothing else matters. Many have said about it, Martha at the death of Lazarus' death.

"Lord," Martha said to Jesus, "if you had been here, my brother would not have died.

Jesus knowing the pain of his absence yet didn't deny the fact that those who seek him truely will never get disappointed, said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”

24 Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

27 “Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

Jesus' presence means where we have peace in the midst of turmoil, happiness and Joy in the midst of sufferings and persecution.

Great men of Faith saw this in their hardest times of their Test, Moses in the presence of God(Exo 3:5 "Do not come any closer," God said. "Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.", Elijah for example while confronting false prophets(

Elijah Kills the Prophets of Baal

18 During the third year without rain, the Lord spoke his word to Elijah: “Go and meet King Ahab, and I will soon send rain.” 2 So Elijah went to meet Ahab.

By this time there was no food in Samaria. 3 King Ahab sent for Obadiah, who was in charge of the king’s palace. (Obadiah was a true follower of the Lord. 4 When Jezebel was killing all the Lord’s prophets, Obadiah hid a hundred of them in two caves, fifty in one cave and fifty in another. He also brought them food and water.) 5 Ahab said to Obadiah, “Let’s check every spring and valley in the land. Maybe we can find enough grass to keep our horses and mules alive and not have to kill our animals.” 6 So each one chose a part of the country to search; Ahab went in one direction and Obadiah in another.

7 While Obadiah was on his way, Elijah met him. Obadiah recognized Elijah, so he bowed down to the ground and said, “Elijah? Is it really you, master?”

8 “Yes,” Elijah answered. “Go tell your master that I am here.”

9 Then Obadiah said, “What wrong have I done for you to hand me over to Ahab like this? He will put me to death. 10 As surely as the Lord your God lives, the king has sent people to every country to search for you. If the ruler said you were not there, Ahab forced the ruler to swear you could not be found in his country. 11 Now you want me to go to my master and tell him, ‘Elijah is here’? 12 The Spirit of the Lord may carry you to some other place after I leave. If I go tell King Ahab you are here, and he comes and doesn’t find you, he will kill me! I have followed the Lord since I was a boy. 13 Haven’t you been told what I did? When Jezebel was killing the Lord’s prophets, I hid a hundred of them, fifty in one cave and fifty in another. I brought them food and water. 14 Now you want me to go and tell my master you are here? He will kill me!”

15 Elijah answered, “As surely as the Lord All-Powerful lives, whom I serve, I will be seen by Ahab today.”

16 So Obadiah went to Ahab and told him where Elijah was. Then Ahab went to meet Elijah.

17 When he saw Elijah, he asked, “Is it you—the biggest troublemaker in Israel?”

18 Elijah answered, “I have not made trouble in Israel. You and your father’s family have made all this trouble by not obeying the Lord’s commands. You have gone after the Baals. 19 Now tell all Israel to meet me at Mount Carmel. Also bring the four hundred fifty prophets of Baal and the four hundred prophets of Asherah, who eat at Jezebel’s table.”

20 So Ahab called all the Israelites and those prophets to Mount Carmel. 21 Elijah approached the people and said, “How long will you not decide between two choices? If the Lord is the true God, follow him, but if Baal is the true God, follow him!” But the people said nothing.

22 Elijah said, “I am the only prophet of the Lord here, but there are four hundred fifty prophets of Baal. 23 Bring two bulls. Let the prophets of Baal choose one bull and kill it and cut it into pieces. Then let them put the meat on the wood, but they are not to set fire to it. I will prepare the other bull, putting the meat on the wood but not setting fire to it. 24 You prophets of Baal, pray to your god, and I will pray to the Lord. The god who answers by setting fire to his wood is the true God.”

All the people agreed that this was a good idea.

25 Then Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, “There are many of you, so you go first. Choose a bull and prepare it. Pray to your god, but don’t start the fire.”

26 So they took the bull that was given to them and prepared it. They prayed to Baal from morning until noon, shouting “Baal, answer us!” But there was no sound, and no one answered. They danced around the altar they had built.

27 At noon Elijah began to make fun of them. “Pray louder!” he said. “If Baal really is a god, maybe he is thinking, or busy, or traveling! Maybe he is sleeping so you will have to wake him!” 28 The prophets prayed louder, cutting themselves with swords and spears until their blood flowed, which was the way they worshiped. 29 The afternoon passed, and the prophets continued to act like this until it was time for the evening sacrifice. But no voice was heard; Baal did not answer, and no one paid attention.

30 Then Elijah said to all the people, “Now come to me.” So they gathered around him, and Elijah rebuilt the altar of the Lord, which had been torn down. 31 He took twelve stones, one stone for each of the twelve tribes, the number of Jacob’s sons. (The Lordchanged Jacob’s name to Israel.) 32 Elijah used these stones to rebuild the altar in honor of the Lord. Then he dug a ditch around the altar that was big enough to hold about thirteen quarts of seed. 33 Elijah put the wood on the altar, cut the bull into pieces, and laid the pieces on the wood. 34 Then he said, “Fill four jars with water, and pour it on the meat and on the wood.” Then Elijah said, “Do it again,” and they did it again. Then he said, “Do it a third time,” and they did it the third time. 35 So the water ran off the altar and filled the ditch.

36 At the time for the evening sacrifice, the prophet Elijah went near the altar. “Lord, you are the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel,” he prayed. “Prove that you are the God of Israel and that I am your servant. Show these people that you commanded me to do all these things. 37 Lord, answer my prayer so these people will know that you, Lord, are God and that you will change their minds.”

38 Then fire from the Lord came down and burned the sacrifice, the wood, the stones, and the ground around the altar. It also dried up the water in the ditch. 39 When all the people saw this, they fell down to the ground, crying, “The Lord is God! The Lord is God!”

40 Then Elijah said, “Capture the prophets of Baal! Don’t let any of them run away!” The people captured all the prophets. Then Elijah led them down to the Kishon Valley, where he killed them.

The Rain Comes Again

41 Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Now, go, eat, and drink, because a heavy rain is coming.” 42 So King Ahab went to eat and drink. At the same time Elijah climbed to the top of Mount Carmel, where he bent down to the ground with his head between his knees.

43 Then Elijah said to his servant, “Go and look toward the sea.”

The servant went and looked. “I see nothing,” he said.

Elijah told him to go and look again. This happened seven times. 44 The seventh time, the servant said, “I see a small cloud, the size of a human fist, coming from the sea.”

Elijah told the servant, “Go to Ahab and tell him to get his chariot ready and go home now. Otherwise, the rain will stop him.”

45 After a short time the sky was covered with dark clouds. The wind began to blow, and soon a heavy rain began to fall. Ahab got in his chariot and started back to Jezreel. 46 The Lord gave his power to Elijah, who tightened his clothes around him and ran ahead of King Ahab all the way to Jezreel.

God's presence means it is a place of "Holiness, Purity and Truth", there can't be any unholy, impure or false things. There can't be any injustice, misunderstandings.
