Remembering Jesus is one of the most important aspect in our life.
The problem with many of us is the remembrance of the old things, our short comings and failures. We often remember the same thing with are fallen apart. Like peter, This remembrance is also good, because it reminds us of our limitations of what we think and what God has for us.
Matthew 26:75 NIV
Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: "Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times." And he went outside and wept bitterly.
At the Crucifixion, one of the criminal said Jesus to remember in his kingdom.
Luke 23:42 And he was saying, "Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!" 43And He said to him, "Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise."
Moses asks God for help - To save the people and not to harm and destroy:
Exodus 32:13 "Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants to whom You swore by Yourself, and said to them, 'I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heavens, and all this land of which I have spoken I will give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.'" 14So the LORD changed His mind about the harm which He said He would do to His people.
Ephesians 1:16 NIV
I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.

The Crucifixion
33 When they came to the place called [a]The Skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left. 34 [b]But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves. 35 And the people stood by, looking on. And even the rulers were sneering at Him, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if this is the [c]Christ of God, His Chosen One.” 36 The soldiers also mocked Him, coming up to Him, offering Him sour wine, 37 and saying, “If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself!” 38 Now there was also an inscription above Him, “THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
39 One of the criminals who were hanged there was [d]hurling abuse at Him, saying, “Are You not the [e]Christ? Save Yourself and us!” 40 But the other answered, and rebuking him said, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41 And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving [f]what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” 42 And he was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come [g]in Your kingdom!” 43 And He said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”

Today more than two thousand years ago, when Jesus was among us, he lived a sinless life, willing to do everything the Father said. This day he would have done some miracles, he would have healed many sick, he would have prayed for the people. Remembering Jesus will enable us to move forward with life with him, forgetting everything that we have done and remembering what he has done for us is the first steps to draw closer to God.
Remembering to Thank God:
Paul always thanks God for everything God has done for him,
Philippians 1:3-11 NIV
Thanksgiving and Prayer
3 I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. 7 It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart; for whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God's grace with me. 8 God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus. 9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ--to the glory and praise of God.
I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.
Remembering in Offerings:
The whole purpose of offering to God is to be reconciled with him and others, that is why, Jesus asks us to remember, if anything is against the brother before offering to God.
Matthew 5:23-24New American Standard Bible (NASB)
23 Therefore if you are presenting your [a]offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your [b]offering there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your [c]offering.
Remembering for his encouragement:
1 Thessalonians 3:6-10New King James Version (NKJV)
Encouraged by Timothy
6 But now that Timothy has come to us from you, and brought us good news of your faith and love, and that you always have good remembrance of us, greatly desiring to see us, as we also to see you— 7 therefore, brethren, in all our affliction and distress we were comforted concerning you by your faith. 8 For now we live, if you stand fast in the Lord.
9 For what thanks can we render to God for you, for all the joy with which we rejoice for your sake before our God, 10 night and day praying exceedingly that we may see your face and perfect what is lacking in your faith?
