What is Worth Doing?

Solomon considered to be one of the most intelligent and rich person in the world says,

Ecclesiastes 1:14 NIV
I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

Ecclesiastes 2:11 NIV
Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.


We are in the middle of the two extremes, the life that which we live in here is temporary and the life that we live after is eternal. We are to choose the right things to end up living eternally well with the creator God. If we choose to say and accept his Son - Jesus.

Now we live in this world, what is worth doing here in this life matters, many have tried doing different thing, but ended up saying it is enough, it does not satisfy the soul, it is no more important, etc. But one thing remain constant, the Bible says:

Psalm 34:8 NIV Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.

In the book of Hebrews:

4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.


One thing that never ceases is the worship of God, the angels praise and worship him, the faithful who have tasted and experienced his goodness never cease to worship him. Worshiping the true God is a Joy. Everything else in this world is meaningless if it was not to glorify God, if it is not to praise and uplift his name.

Belief in God

One of the most important aspect in a Christian life is to Believe that God exists. This is so essential for everything with which a Christian do, his world view, his life style, his passion, his purpose etc everything depends upon the fact that he Believes in God the Creator.

The Bible starts by starting God created, but never mentions about the existence of God as a doubt or question.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Faith Vs Facts
To believe in the existence of God requires a great leap of Faith, but it does not end there. Without Facts it is empty. We see many facts that draws out to a conclusion that God exists, but facts alone cannot prove it, it requires Faith. We are in the middle of the large line in one extend it is Faith and the other its Facts. We swing along these paths and we find ourselves confused sometimes. We doubt and we ask questions. Apostle Peter did not deny the fact that God exists, he neither denied that Jesus is the Son of God, but he denied the fact that he is going to lie, he denies thrice.

Faith Vs Works
Faith without work is death, but work alone will not get us Salvation, Eternal Life. Now Faith at one end and Work at another end and we are at the middle swinging, we see that it took great faith for the woman who had blood issue for 18 long years, but it is also the work that she took an initiative to touch the hem of the Jesus's Garment.

Jesus Christ did not allow his followers to doubt even an iota, he asked his disciple Thomas to touch and put the finger in the hole. So that he not only Believes but also will be a witness of Christ in the country of India.

It is not the facts, the answers for all our questions, the solution for all our problems. In fact if we were to look at life in the beginning, when God created Adam and Eve it was everything that they wanted to know was given, the speech, the knowledge of naming trees, plants, birds, animals, etc. but because of the sin we got up in the middle of a chaos sometime feeling very much confident and sometime feeling insecure. It was the same with the Disciples of Jesus, When Jesus said, "Where is your Faith?"

I wonder what the disciples were looking into, made them to ask "“Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!” rather than answering Jesus.

And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!”

Now Faith being one of the most important aspect of a Christian Life, there is something which is much more great and more important that needs to be understood.

When God created everything, most importantly Human Beings, he did not create and then found Love, it is because of Love he created them. Love is not something that was found over a period of time. Love is eternal, God is Love.

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.


It is not even the Love that as humans we understand, we understand it as an exchange. But if that is the kind of Love we understood, we ask questions like, why should Jesus die for our sins? But if we understand just a little meaning of that True Love, we will stop asking such questions and start accepting the Son, we will allow him in our heart, we dine with him, for we know that he has prepared us a place in heaven.

This is why Apostle Paul had to write a whole chapter about Love - I cor 13 and at the end has to say this.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

May we never forget his Love for us, may we never regret to accept his Love for us. May we never understand the mystery of his Love, but we never fail to Love him, because he Loved us first.

The Worship God Hates

The Futility of Idols and the Trustworthiness of God

Praise the Lord!

There are number of reasons why God does not like his people worshiping Idols. God is Jealous. Not because he wants anyone forcefully to worship him, but worship him through Love.

Why do people worship Idols? The simple reason could be that "It does not speak", So if you were to make an idol and say it has some power and it can forgive your sins, then it becomes very easy to believe, because an Idol can be touched and felt. It has a physical presence. But it limits many thing that a True God who is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. Once you create an Idol you can do whatever you want, as it will never stop you doing wrong, it never speaks nor directs in the right path, people who follow such thing do the same thing thinking that are doing it for God.

Satan and Demon likes people to believe in these forms of Idols, because his desire is:

They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;


God Confronts the Idol Worshipers from the beginning, not always in the punishable way:

Elijah confronts false prophets,


God is not against the people, but their ideologies, what turned one of the most intelligent person - Solomon was idolatry. It is said that fallen angels from could have become idols, others says the numbers clearly states, the color and texture of other Demons clearly states these were fallen angels.

Gideon Destroys the Altar of Baal
